The NL Scholarship (previously known as the Holland Scholarship) is designed for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Netherlands. About the Scholarship
Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science alongside various Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences, this scholarship provides €5,000, which will be awarded during the first year of study. Note that it is not a full-tuition scholarship.
How to Apply
Eligibility Criteria
You are a non-EEA national.
You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program at one of the Dutch higher education institutions participating in the scholarship.
You meet the specific entry requirements of the institution of your choice (these can be found on the institution's website).
You do not hold a degree from an educational institution in the Netherlands.
Code of Conduct
Nuffic, or programs under its management, adheres to a strict Integrity Code of Conduct to prevent unacceptable behavior, whether interpersonal or financial misconduct or abuse of power. Activities or behaviors considered unacceptable include:
Bankruptcy, insolvency, or winding-up procedures
Breach of obligations related to tax or social security contributions
Involvement with criminal organizations
Money laundering or terrorist financing
Terrorist offenses or offenses related to terrorism
Irregularity
Creating or operating a shell company

Participating Universities
The list of universities offering the NL Scholarship changes annually. For the 2024-2025 academic year, participating Dutch research universities are listed, and specific application deadlines and fields of study can be found on each institution's website.
